Accepting Graduate Interns

Where you complete your graduate internship matters.


As a prominent organization with nearly a decade of experience in child and family services, Too Bee Therapy LLC is dedicated to enhancing the well-being of children, teen and adults by investing in families to break the systemic cycle of generational trauma.


Too Bee Therapy LLC allows graduate interns to apply their theoretical knowledge in a practical setting. We focus on offering meaningful and personalized learning experiences for those pursuing mental health and social services careers. Graduate interns must be seeking college credit as part of their degree requirements.


Graduate interns will have the chance to gain experience in providing behavioral health and

consultative services to families with children. Students will also offer direct supplemental services, such as skill development and practice, to support the goals and interventions provided by clinical program staff and assist with case management responsibilities.


Qualifications:

  • Fall 2024- Spring 2025 school year: Graduate interns must be available for a minimum of two school semesters


  • Graduate interns may declare graduate internship start and end dates according to their school requirements.


  • Enrollment in the final year of an accredited master's degree program for social work, psychology, counseling (clinical, mental health, community), or marriage and family therapy with a previously completed graduate internship/practicum.


Additional Details:

  • Graduate interns must pass a fingerprinting and background check
  • Too Bee Therapy LLC does not provide compensation to graduate interns

Graduate Intern Responsibilities

  • Schedule: 16-24 hrs. per week; Mondays- Saturdays morning / afternoon/ evenings
  • Graduate interns will assist/shadow full-time staff in conducting biopsychosocial assessments and general mental health assessments, writing treatment plans and case management, and providing individual, family, and group counseling
  • Training for the therapy model and assessments will be provided
  • Complete the required and recommended training: Mandated Reporter, HIPAA, Sexual Harassment Awareness and Prevention, LGBTQIA+, Safety, Trauma 101, Etc.

Upon successful completion of the training and shadowing experiences, advanced students are capable of independently managing their caseload of clients, as well as conducting assessments and therapy sessions.


Staff will provide weekly supervision, which is required even if supervision is being provided through the graduate intern's school.

Benefits of Completing Your Internship at Too Bee Therapy

  • During the graduate internship program at Too Bee Therapy LLC, students will learn how to provide direct services to youth and families to supplement clinical interventions, such as skill development and practice, parent coaching, and provider consultation.
  • Graduate students will learn client interviewing, assessment, treatment planning, and case management skills.
  • Graduate students will gain knowledge about the profound impact trauma can have on child and family functioning.
  • Graduate students will gain knowledge of relevant referrals, local resources, and community support available to program clients. Graduate students will engage in community outreach and education about childhood behavioral health services.
  • Participate in clinical staffing and team meetings. 
  • Learn about required documentation and proper filing systems. 
  • Learn about the history and services of Too Bee Therapy LLC in an orientation to the agency, including an introduction to policies & procedures and safety practices.
  •  Participate in regular supervision with the assigned clinical supervisor.
